“Failure is never a bus stop for students,
It is just a check point for all successful student”

No one is perfect. Inevitably, there will come a time when reality does not meet with your expectations. Whether that is a low mark on a test, a rejection from a co-op placement, or major setbacks in your grand plans, we hope these tips may help you deal with failure.

Causes of Failure

  1. Lack of Discipline
  2. Poor Self-Esteem
  3. Fatalistic Attitude
  4. Overconfidence
  5. Laziness
  6. Fear
  7. Time Wasting
  8. Lack of knowledge

Tips for Turning Failure into Success

Overcoming failure is all about finding it in yourself to start again. First, you must overcome the sense of failure. Each failure is a chance to grow stronger and wiser.

1. Keep your focus on your end goal at all times.

Keeping your goals in mind is the only way to stop yourself from giving up when things become difficult.

2. Always keep trying something new.

Staring down past situations that didn’t work out and rising up to take past risks again is critical to being successful. Too many people get stuck in a rut, not because they refuse to take second chances, but because they’re really bad at taking new first chances. You have to always be willing to try something new.

3. Treat failure as a learning experience.

Failure is necessary on the path of success. It exposes errors in your process and offers the opportunity for improvement. By committing to a positive outlook and turning failures into opportunities, dealing with failure can even be something to look forward to after the fact.

4. Test your knowledge.

If you find yourself struggling with a particular subject, and not school in general, lack of understanding might be your problem. Study with others to get perspective on your material, or work with a tutor to help you engage in the subject outside of class.

5. Talk to someone.

Being able to talk through how you’re feeling can be cathartic. Having someone listen and sympathize with your struggles can be a welcome comfort. Take the time to talk to someone about how you’re feeling and what you’re thinking, maybe even bounce possible ways to move forward off of them.

Conclusion:

If you want to be great, you have to seek out new challenges.

Dealing with and turning failure into success requires fortitude and resilience. By actively seeking out difficult situations in your life, you will become more confident in your ability to overcome them. You’ll develop a laser sharp focus on your goals and develop the discipline required to prevent negative people from knocking you off track. Do this and you’ll live a more confident and focused life. Until next time, live like a lion.
