Self-Defense- Our right our duty

Life is a gift. It’s also unpredictable. Violence should be avoided as much as possible, but not at all costs. Unlike you and I, there are bad people in this world, and at times violence is unavoidable. Self-defense helps to prepare you for unexpected situations and also helps develop increased mental and physical health.

Necessity of Self-Defense and Security:

The ability to protect oneself physically from harm is a basic human right that should be accessible to everyone, including children. Self-defense is a set of skills that allows one to defend themselves by engaging in physical combat. Self-defense not only allows children to tangibly defend themselves against physical attacks, it also sparks various benefits to them in everyday life.
In its true form, self-defense training enhances people’s mental awareness, helps them identify and prevent acts of crime, and opens up a person to a healthier, confident approach to life.

Benefit of Self-Defense:

Fitness and other physical skills

Aside from security training, students are taught how to improve their fitness and are encouraged to take up healthy lifestyles.

Values and Principles
Some of the values that self defense teaches include integrity, humility, honor, respect, courage, and discipline. Another important principle is the significance of failure. Throughout life, people are bound to fail, but self defense teaches us to embrace failure and to see it as an opportunity to improve ourselves.

Self-Discipline
This is perhaps the most important element of learning self-defense. When students instill self-discipline early in life, this mentality starts to reflect in other aspects of their lives.

Self-Confidence

By building confidence, students are better equipped to handle difficult situations in school and at home – and it also improves their grades.

Physical power

The whole point of self defense classes is to prepare you for any situation that may bring harm to you. By making yourself a stronger person inside and out, you’ll be far better prepared to face real world dangers.

Self-Respect

The practice of karate, martial art and many other self defense techniques are centered on trust and respect. It teaches respect of each other and respect for you. This is beneficial in life. If you don’t respect yourself, then how can you respect others? So it is very important.

These are some of the reasons why self-defense classes are important; in fact, schools should encourage their students to enroll for some of these courses. Self defense is a lifelong skill that can help to raise awareness, reduce the number of victims of bullying, and prevent a threatening situation from escalating into something more serious.
