Don’t stress, Do the Best

Exam season can bring on levels of stress and burnout that can hinder your studies. Exam stress affects most students in varying ways. It is important to manage this stress and find little ways of helping to eliminate the risk of burnout.

For some students, exams can be a breeze, Revision is second nature to them and they could face an exam with their eyes closed. But for others, sweaty palms and heart palpitations are just a part of the territory, and it seems that nothing is more impossible than sitting down and revising. Here are some handy tips that can help to dissipate stress and make sure you can get through exam season.

Here are some handy tips on how to manage your anxiety:

  • Get organized

Prioritizing your time, subjects and workload this will help reduce your stress levels, as you'll be able to ensure that the really important stuff is covered - and at the right time.

Keeping a diary and writing to-do lists each day will keep you super prepared and on track to getting everything done - and on time.

Working out a daily routine and sticking to it is also good for the soul, as you'll feel a lot more in control of how your day pans out.

  • Educational App

There are tons of educational apps designed to improve your quality of life. Whether you want to get better organized, improve your mental arithmetic or work on your English language skills, there’s an app for that. We’ve launched our own mobile apps for OYE EXAMS so that you can make the most of your time no matter where you are. Downloading the app will give you access to over previous year solved questions papers of various boards and many other features.

  • Exercise

Exercise is a great stress buster. Yeah, we know, you're exhausted. Sometimes the idea of exercising during times of high stress feels like the last thing you want to do, but we guarantee you will feel better afterwards (and could even have a bit more energy to do an hour more revision afterwards if you're feeling up to it).

  • Power of Music

Music is effective for relaxation and stress management. Try taking a break but just listening to some of your favorite relaxing music. Studies have shown classical music to be the most effective at reducing anxiety and tension. Listening to music can create a positive and productive environment by elevating your mood and encouraging you to study more effectively and for longer.

  • Balanced Diet

Food often takes a back seat during exam times, as students spend most of their time shut inside rooms. However, this can be one of the reasons behind increased stress. Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals is very unhealthy generally as well. But during exam times, skipping meals can lead to illness, irritability and low energy.

Keep a stock of healthy snacks, like almonds, roasted sunflower or flax seeds, roasted fox nuts, unsalted pistachios or even peanuts in your room. Anytime you feel hungry or drained, just grab a handful of these healthy snacks and gobble them up for an energy boost. Include as many fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as you can.

Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated. Drinking enough water can also curb frequent hunger pangs. Eating the right amount of food is as important as managing your time and staying positive.

  • Talk to a Good Friend

Friends can often take on an important supportive role during the exam periods and at other times of stress; often very simple things can help. Talk to your friend about the concerns and listen carefully. Discuss with friends who are positive, help you prepare better and can be there for you when you feel tensed and you may also help them when they need your help. Friends play a positive role in bursting your stress balloon.

  • Stay Focused

Say NO to social media and Say "no" to parties during the weeks close to the exams. This will help to keep you refreshed and energized.

When studying, switch your phone and email off to stop the distractions.

  • Sleep Well and Stay Positive

Sleep well! Even during exams, if you can sleep your basic 6 to 8 hours it will be wonderful. Do not stay awake the whole night cramming; it will certainly reduce your performance. No matter how tensed you maybe, try to sleep for few hours at least!

Stay positive! Keep Calm! Believe in yourself and don't worry excessively.
